Terms of Service
Last updated April 23, 2026
The agreement
These terms govern your use of somethingdopeforthepeople.com and any services Something Dope For The People ("Something Dope", "we", "us") provides through this site, including artist account creation, submissions, vendor applications, service inquiries, and any messaging, profiles, or events ticketed through the site.
By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Who can use the site
You must be at least 13 years old to use the site. If you are submitting work, creating an account, or purchasing anything, you confirm you have the legal capacity to do so. Some events have age restrictions set by the venue; the event listing will say so.
Accounts
When you claim an artist profile, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your password secure. One account per person. You are responsible for the activity on your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, email hello@somethingdopeforthepeople.com.
Content you submit
When you submit music, photos, videos, text, or any other content to Something Dope, you confirm that you own or have the right to submit it, and you grant Something Dope a non exclusive, royalty free license to:
- review and curate the content for programs you applied to,
- display the content on somethingdopeforthepeople.com and our social channels in the context of the program, event, or community you are part of,
- create derivative marketing assets (clips, carousels, recaps) that promote the event or program the content relates to.
You keep ownership of your work. You can ask us to stop using any specific piece of content by emailing us.
What you can't do
You agree not to:
- submit content you do not have the right to submit,
- impersonate another artist, brand, or person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity,
- use the site to harass, threaten, or harm another person, or to post anything unlawful, discriminatory, or defamatory,
- scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the operation of the site, its databases, or its messaging systems,
- spam our submission forms or manipulate our analytics.
Events + tickets
Tickets sold through partners (such as Eventbrite or direct venue box offices) are governed by those partners' terms. Tickets sold through us directly are subject to our internal ticketing terms which will be visible at checkout. Event details (lineup, date, venue) may change for reasons outside our control; where possible we will notify ticket holders by email.
Brand + production services
Inquiries submitted through /services are requests, not contracts. Any production engagement with a brand, label, or agency is governed by a separate written agreement between that party and Something Dope.
Our intellectual property
Except for content you submit, everything on the site (design, code, logos, wordmarks, photography, copy) is owned by Something Dope or licensed to us. You may not copy, republish, or redistribute it without written permission. Our brand book at /brand covers what partners may use with attribution.
As is, no warranties
The site is provided as is. We do not guarantee it will be free of errors, interruptions, or that it will meet every expectation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Something Dope For The People is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, even if we were advised of the possibility. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced through our newsletter or on our Instagram. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California (United States), without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
